Our First Town Hall

I held the first of what I hope will be many Town Hall Meetings with Hams in New England last evening.

I was joined by a panel of Hams who are supporting my campaign and who are helping me to develop plans for the work I will do as ARRL New England Division Director.

After a brief introduction, we spent the evening answering questions from the folks who joined us for the Town Hall.

We recorded the Town Hall Meeting and I wanted to share it with our readers here. I would welcome the opportunity to hear your views and answer any additional questions that you might have. You can reach me at [email protected].

  1. Thank You for answering my question on ARES Connect. I agree and have spent my life dealing with emergencies. As a retired Fire Chief and Ambulance Director, I agree that we must have a full list of those trained in Incident Command – Communication. ARES connect failed because it didn’t recognize those already trained and didn’t take their advice. ARES means everything to me now. We need to support our Police, Fire, EMS and EMA’s.
I have a very active ARES Team in Northern Maine and I serve as EC for Aroostook County (Northern Maine). I liked the town hall and I will give you my vote.
    Thanks for listening.

    1. Thank you Roy for your support. ARES and tools and databases that support it are important. It seems we are facing the risk of more and more emergencies where trained communication
      s people are needed.
